I had talked about getting a compound bow for years. It was something I thought I would enjoy and I am good with shooting guns so I figured I'd like to give it a try.
I bought a bow last Saturday. I really like it, it's a great bow and lightweight.
Tonight I took it out and got some shooting time in. It's the 3rd time I've shot and I don't want to toot my own horn but I did pretty dang good!
I would like to try a 3D shoot in the future but I need to keep practicing before I get in to anything type of competition.
I didn't know what this was called until I talked to my BIL...it's called a Robin Hood. I shot an arrow in to another arrow. I was told to keep them together since it's not that common to have it happen.

Nice shootin' there, Tex! Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteWicked coolness! You look comfortable with the bow too, anyone would think you'd be shooting for a while. A Robin Hood, definitely worth saving. (Hugs)Indigo
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm impressed. I've never tried shooting with a bow but I love watching the competitions at our local fair. Hug a kitty for me....Linda back home in Washington where she belongs
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! Enjoy your new sport!

Good for you! My daughter would be jealous! She is into archery!
ReplyDeleteWow! Good aim!
ReplyDeleteSo when are you going to save Maid Marion?
ReplyDeleteGreat shots !! Ionly once had a shot at archery and that was when I was on holiday..what a laugh that was I got on not to badly but next day my friend said to me whats that blue mark showing through your top ? I had a quick peep and had the biggest black and blue bob you've ever seen !! didn't even feel anything doing it LOL
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new sport,
Sybil x
Looks like fun and you seem to be so good at it.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive. Great shots. Is that what you call them? I tried archery years ago and just couldn't make a go at it.
ReplyDeleteIs that a picture of Lil Wayne you are aiming at?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you rock that bow. Attitude & substance. I hone too much of a cynical edge for anyone to ever let me loose with one of those. ~Mary
Nice shot! I took archery in college and loved it. Took second place at the end of the year. Hope you keep having fun!
ReplyDeleteWell done!! What kind of bow did you get? Are you using a release?
ReplyDeleteI had a compound bow for many years, always enjoyed it. Have a blast.
ReplyDeletelate at this again, but what a dead eye you are, keep it up, Noticed someone else mentioned Maid marion!!! Love ya
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa, You look like you've been shooting for ever. Good stance and style, evidenced by the group you shot. We got a compound for Vick a year ago and we shot once since then, but we've been busy with the farm ever since. We're almost done now and can pick these things back up and have fun again. I've been shooting for forty-five years and never shot a Robin Hood. Broke nocks, but never stuck one. Have fun and enjoy.....
ReplyDeleteYou look quite the pro in archery, Lisa. Even a bulls-eye hit there. Is Doug going to be your Little John? ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell Dang! I'd say you are pretty darn good with a capital "G".
ReplyDeleteSeems a long time since you were in to tell us about your archery skills...hope you are ok ??
ReplyDeleteLove Sybil x
