Riverboat Surprise

I had quite an unexpected surprise for my birthday. My birthday was Saturday the 9th, my father in law had his birthday on Sunday the 10th. Doug came up with the idea of having a surprise birthday party for the both of us on a Riverboat named the Lantern Queen.

I didn't suspect anything and I know my father in law didn't either. When we arrived at the restaurant we were supposed to be having lunch and it was closed my curiosity got the best of me. I kept asking Doug where we were going but he wasn't talking.

We arrived at the boat and even as we boarded I wasn't thinking anything. Everyone was sitting or standing directly in front of me but wasn't until they yelled surprise I realized what was going on. I turned to Claude, (my father in law) and he had the biggest smile on his face ~ it meant the world to him. We had a great little cruise lasting two hours.

We had an excellent lunch with various wraps, salads and Maryland Crab Soup. There was a full bar for drinks, a cake and of course the opportunity to relax with family and friends.

It was a wonderful birthday and I know Claude loved it as well. It was pretty brave of Doug to pull off a double surprise party!! I loved the Riverboat and will definitely being going on another river tour. They offer just about anything you can think of and of course you can always charter the boat for private parties. They have a murder mystery cruise which sounds like fun.

After the party we stopped at another restaurant called the Tidewater for drinks & some oysters & clams. My cousin and her boyfriend, my mom & JC and a dear family friend were with us.

It was a great day and one I will always remember.

Thanks Doug!!!!
