Cute, cuddly, innocent....whoa, backup....are we talking about this fellow? I don't think we're talking about Loudini with that glowing description.
As any good magician will tell you, never give away your secret. Lou obviously chose to follow the magicians creed and led me on a wild goose chase for the better part of a week. We will now defer to him as the Great Loudini.
If you've been a long time reader you'll know all about the CatHouse. It's a house for cats I've rescued or were were removed from abusive situations. The house is big (over 1200 sf inside) with a 30x60' outside enclosed run. 20 cats reside in this house so over-crowding is not an issue.
Last week my mom called and told me Lou & TuTu were out. I had no trouble getting TuTu back in but Lou gave me a run for my money. I checked the enclosure and zip stripped a few areas I thought were the problem.
Lou was in. Case closed? Not a chance!
Lou was out every morning thereafter. Every day I searched to find where he could possibly be escaping. I would zip strip every little place I thought he was getting through to no avail.
Loudini was mocking me ~ he was laughing at me. Lou had the upper hand I didn't like it, I didn't like one bit. No other cats were following him out and once Lou was out he wailed like a baby to get back in. Silly Lou, perplexed me.
Yesterday morning was the last straw. He was out yet again. I had to be at the office early and was not in the mood to deal with this yet again. A very unhappy Loudini was put in his own room for a time out.
I walked outside and looked up....there it was! I found his escape route, complete with evidence...HAIR!!! Yes!!!
It seems the blizzard popped the original zip strips and one entire are was not attached any longer. Loudini was climbing up the tree inside their run, walking the support beam and climbing out.
Doug & I went over the ENTIRE roof last night. We zip stripped everything to the point of paranoia.
Guess who didn't get out last night? Loudini.
"I need a nap!"

Wow. He's had given the guards at Alcatraz fits!
